It is not a secret that many creative people are not full time artists. A lot of things can prevent artists from setting their art careers as Priority Number One: hectic lifestyle in a big city, the necessity to have a day job to pay bills, and so on. It is not a secret either that when artists think art they do not think money. A process of creating is absolutely unique for each artist, as well as a source of inspiration.
The only thing that creative beings can be lack of is business knowledge or, as it appears, self-confidence to pursue their creative path and art careers.
At re:artiste we’ve been building our local art community to have a place where we all can talk, learn, and share, as well as show art and projects. At our monthly meetups we try to touch sensitive topics of the art business as well. To understand the issue what stops some artists from being confident and successful, we invited a professional certified coach, Madison Reyes. At our November gathering we touched some psychological aspects, as well as time management issues.
At here’s one of the precious pieces of advice for artists from the life coach: remember this mnemonic acronym – SMART. When setting objectives and plans, try to make them Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant. And the letter T would stand for Time – set a deadline, otherwise your plans are no more than dreams.
Join our creative circle, Art Terrace, for more talks, results, networking. Be successful, confident and happy artist!
