What inspires artists today and who controls the narrative? Are you successfully adapting to the market and technological overwhelm? Would love to hear your thoughts on how you balance the joy of making art and the necessity (or not) of building a sustainable artist career. In Spring 2026, Independent Art Fair (NYC) relocated to Pier 36. Hosting 76 thoughtfully curated booths and a presentation by a groundbreaking fashion brand – Comme des Garçons founded by Rei Kawakubo – the art fair managed to provide room for the artworks to breathe. Let’s talk about your rights. It’s important to read what you sign. For example, when you entered the People’s Artist (Johnny Depp presents) online competition, you agreed to this: ‘Head in the Clouds’ by Voyo Woo and Matthew Yacavone: philosophy, art, technology, sound, light - an immersive experience created by the artists to explore brainwaves and more. It’s not a satanic altar - it’s the exhibition ‘Russian Imperative” at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia. Studio visit with Gyan Shrosbree💥 “Fluorescent beauty and the feminine gaze,” — @twocoatsofpaint about the artist’s solo exhibition in 2023. “The People’s Artist” competition, associated with Johnny Depp, benefits The Art of Elysium. It operates as a for-profit, “pay-to-vote” competition run by Colossal Management LLC. It’s not a traditional juried art contest. It’s a “pay-to-play” marketing scheme designed to generate THEIR revenue through extra votes. Studio visit with Gabriel Pacheco (who goes with Pacheco as his artist name). Thank you very much for showing your work and sharing your story! ▪️ America’s art world, like its government, is a gerontocracy captured by boomers.
